Our quality and environmental management is a key component of our corporate philosophy. Our high quality standards and environmental guidelines are applied in developing, procuring and producing our products as well as the way we work and in our corporate processes. We regularly have our ISO-certified management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001) audited by independent auditing companies, but we also invest in new technologies to continue developing further.
At Söhner Kunststofftechnik, quality has top priority. For us, this means that our customers are satisfied and their expectations can be permanently fulfilled. Here, an element component is a continuous improvement process (CIP) that comprises all areas of our company. This includes an internal quality management that regularly checks, questions and improves the processes and sequences in our company. Since 2001, our quality management system has been certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001.
In addition to quality assurance, we are also conscious of our responsibility for the environment and society. This can be seen not only in our production procedures through the observance of the valid environmental regulations and a careful handling of raw materials and energy. We also observe this responsibility by developing products that lead to continuous savings in use. Our efforts have been certified according to the ISO 14001 environmental standard since 2008 and according to the ISO 50001 energy standard since 2013.
Our 1-gigawatt photovoltaic plant, which covers the majority of our electrical current requirement, makes a considerable contribution to the sustainability of the energy supply. In addition, all our machines, like compressors, are equipped according to the latest standard for heat recovery. Additionally required heating energy is taken from the exhaust heat of a local biomass power plant. Our heating oil consumption for the generation of heat could thus be reduced by approx. 95 percent.
