COVID-19 vaccination programme at Söhner Kunststofftechnik

After management made early efforts to procure coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines, the vaccination programme at Söhner Kunststofftechnik in Schwaigern was able to start on Friday, 11 June, only a few days after the official approval for vaccination by company doctors. All company employees and the Dr. Doll Engineering toolmaking team have been invited to be vaccinated over the course of several days.

Thanks to a good organization, waiting times could be minimized.

Of our current workforce of around 350, more than 80 received their first dose of the vaccine last Friday. Other employees will receive their first dose on another vaccination day in the near future. Second vaccinations will take place 4 weeks later.

The vaccination programme took place under the direction of company doctor Dr Laun with the support of the personnel and production management in a converted lounge area at the Schwaigern headquarters. Antimicrobial partition walls, developed last year specifically for the pandemic, were used to separate off a vaccination booth. Dr Laun's team was able to finish the first day after about 8 hours, as all vaccinations were successfully carried out.

Thanks to this successful start, we are now pushing on with preparations for the next round of vaccinations and are looking forward to the days ahead. We aim to fully vaccinate all employees willing to be vaccinated against coronavirus by the end of July. We see the vaccination programme as an important building block in getting the pandemic under control.
