Safe, smart, sustainable — that's not just the motto of this year's LogiMAT in Stuttgart, it's also the intralogistics and transport logistics requirements for modern packaging. Söhner Kunststofftechnik will be showing how these properties come together in a plastic packaging solution at its exhibition stand across more than 70 square meters (Hall 4, Stand C11).
Solutions for automated, smart manufacturing processes
The packaging manufacturer specializes in the production of thermoformed load carriers and is presenting a packaging unit for automated handling at LogiMAT 2022. The unit consists of a plastic pallet, two stack bases and several workpiece carriers. The latter guarantee a secure and precise fit for the components. The stack bases enable the workpiece carriers to be lifted and inserted into a production line in stacks. A conveyor belt takes them to the handling station, where the components are removed by a robot. Barcode labels or RFID tags are used to identify the load carriers in the system.
Connecting safety and sustainability in transport
Another highlight at the Söhner Kunststofftechnik stand is the MegaPack JUMBO. The large load carrier has a robust twin-sheet sleeve and is primarily used for transporting heavy products or products with high protection requirements. The carrier can also be certified as a dangerous goods container. Moreover, the MegaPack JUMBO has an innovative folding mechanism. When folded, the load carrier uses up to 80 percent less space. Combined with its low weight, the saved volume reduces carbon emissions when transporting empties in a container circuit.
