Foldable large load carriers for a minimized ecological footprint
Highlight at the booth of Söhner are two foldable large load carriers of the MegaPack series. A light MegaPack ALPHA with basic dimensions of 800 x 600 mm and a robust MegaPack JUMBO with basic dimensions of 1200 x 1000 mm. Both large load carriers can be folded together to save space when empty, reducing the volume required by up to 77 percent. Correspondingly fewer trips are required for return transport and CO2 emissions are minimized. The large load carriers are also made from mono-materials and can be recycled very well.
Packaging made of sustainable plastics
In addition, the packaging manufacturer will be showing developments in the context of sustainable materials for the first time at Empack. A large load carrier made of bioplastic and a packaging made of ocean plastic. The ocean plastic is obtained from old fishing nets. Compared to production from virgin material, manufacturing from sustainable plastics helps to reduce CO2 emissions and save resources.
Hazardous goods packaging for batteries
The presentation is rounded off by workpiece carriers, packaging solutions made of twin-wall sheets and packaging for hazardous goods. Using the example of a UN4H2-certified transport packaging for batteries, Söhner will be demonstrating the criteria that are important and the legal regulations that must be observed in the development of hazardous goods packaging. Up to 27 starter batteries can be transported safely with the robust plastic load carrier system.
